What about Kati Wolf’s dreams?

Kati Wolf What about my dreams

The list is total, every ESC participating country’s song has been chosen by a national final. However Hungary didn’t organize a national final, they chose a song helped by a professional team. Kati Wolf’s What about my dreams is a dynamic song about how a woman can feel after a breakup, how she can handle her suddenly lost dreams and empty life, so Kati can be more lucky with this song than Zoli Ádok or Csézy was in 2008-2009. Lyrics was written by Péter Geszti (well known hungarian professional, who was a judge in X-faktor and promised her writing a song, because his decision caused that Kati had to finish the competition) and the music is composed by Viktor Rakonczai and Gergő Rácz. Actually this year I’m amazed by the swedish song (Eric Saade – Popular) both in lyrics both in music it is highly the best one.

What about Kati?

She started singing when she was a little girl and performed the “Vuk-song”, which was a tale about a little fox. After a lot of years she applied to X-faktor (she is 35 now, married and has children) and she finished it on the 6th place. She likes Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston and Queen.

A What about my dreams was written in hungarian as “Szerelem, miért múlsz?” which is not a strong lyrics, but the english version is a pretty good one and she will sing it in a remix (the slow bridge in the middle of the song will hungarian). Actually it could finish in the best five if she won’t mess it up with a bad show or a bad dress, as happened with Andrea Demirovic in 2009 (she chose a purple background to her gold-black dress and her dancer weared white stuff, so she was lost in the show)

Kati will perform in the first semi final, where there is a very similar song (Daria - Celebrate), the georgian and the greek song is very strong, but the lithuanian Evelina can get a lot of votes for her very professional voice.  Paradise Oskar from Finland is like a half-professional James Blunt, but Russia was unlucky too with applicants: their best one is Alexey Vorobyov, who’s song is not too memorable, but he is very good in hip-shaking. Turkey chose a rock band again, Yüksek Sadakat will perform Live it up! which is similar in style to Bon Jovi.

Bulgarian Poli Genova (Na inat) can be one of  the favourites in the second semi final,  but Estonia has a great song too (Getter Jaani - Rockefeller street), and here comes the sweden one, Eric Saade with Popular. Israel is sending Dana International, the transsexual singer, who won an ESC in 1998, but this song (Ding Dong) is not the best one.

The BigFour will be BigFive again, meaning Italy is coming back after 13 years (ESC directing board worked a lot with inviting italians back because they are very important economical partners), however Follia d’Amore isn’t a memorable one too, but at least it is in the final . Germany nominated Lena again, their national final was about chosing one of Lena’s six song. Taken by a stranger is weaker than last year Satellite was. Great Britain has a special representation: they chose the Blue (remember they were teenager favourites e.g. 7-8 years ago?) and I can.

So I think Kati has one of the best songs this year (which is a big word about Hungary-s ESC performances, Magdi Rúzsa was the only professional in the last years, she earned the 9th place in Helsinki). So let’s cheer up and vote for Kati Wolf and What about my dreams!
